• Please use a desktop or laptop computer for the examination. Tablets and mobile devices are not suitable for this.
• Please use only one monitor or screen; multiple monitors or dual screens are not permitted.
• Usable device for the security compliance check: Smartphone
• Use an internal or external speaker and a microphone built into the computer or webcam to communicate with the invigilator, or to listen to the audio. Headsets or in-ear headphones are not permitted.
• You can use a camera built into the computer or a separate web camera. The camera must be able to be moved so that the examination invigilator has a 360° view of the room – including your table surface. 
• The service provider's browser for virtual exam monitoring is provided during the technical check and on the day of the exam.
• Please perform a technical check before the examination and rectify any issues as they occur. All problems must be resolved before your appointment.
• Remember to switch your keyboard to German before starting the written examination. You can find instructions to do so here:

• Please ensure that you have a stable Internet connection (10 Mbit/s) to be able to sit this examination (if necessary, switch off other devices that are also connected to the Internet).
• Close all browsers and applications that you do not need for the examination. This can help to avoid bandwidth problems during the examination.
• Make sure that your computer is connected to a power source.

• If you experience a technical issue during the examination, please inform the examination invigilator. If you still have internet access but the connection to the examination has been interrupted, please notify the examination invigilator via the chat function.
• If your internet connection is briefly interrupted, you will be automatically reconnected to the examination invigilator as soon as your connection is restored. If your examination can be restarted, your examination invigilator will do this for you. In this case, a new room check shall be required.
• Please make a note of the technical support telephone number before the examination so that you can also contact them in the event of Internet issues. Technical support is provided in English.

You won’t lose any time if you experience a technical issue.

In order to ensure that you are alone in the room and do not use any unauthorised auxiliary materials, a 360° room check is required. This includes (but is not limited to) your desk surface and any other areas of the room that the examination invigilator may wish to check. The room check can be repeated several times during the examination if requested. Requirements include the following:

• You must be alone in the room during the examination. Your examination room may only have one door. The door must be closed.
• You are not allowed to take the examination in a public place, such as a café.
• Only authorised identification materials are permitted on your desk and in your surroundings. 
• Please position your table and chair so that the door to the room is visible to the examination invigilator. The examination invigilator may ask you to do this during the briefing.
• Make sure that your room is well lit.
• Rooms with large glass fronts are not permitted.

Prepare the materials you need for your examination (no other materials are permitted).
You will need:

• A valid ID with photo (identity card or passport)
• Your smartphone. The examination invigilator will ask you to switch it off.
