German Expert Mentors (GEMs)

Our German Expert Mentors (GEMs) Network delivers support to German departments and professional upskilling to German teachers in schools across the U.K. Part of a nationwide network, our GEMs will coach and mentor language-teaching professionals, supply updated teaching resources and materials, and re-energise language learning with free-of-charge, bespoke offers that can be tailored to individual needs upon request. The GEM Network is a sister initiative of the NCLE Hub schools, and, as part of GIMAGINE, is supported by England's Department of Education and Germany's Foreign Office.

Our offers

Professional develpment
directly at your school

Individual Coaching & Mentoring

Working closely with individual teachers or a group of teachers at the same school, our GEMs offer flexible, customised support for your German lessons in five different mentoring programmes. 

Professional Development Courses

In addition to individual mentoring, we also offer traditional professional development courses directly at your school. Prerequisite: Teachers from at least two schools (or more), ideally 6-10 people, will take part. Thanks to Gimagine, these courses are also free of charge!

Coaching & Mentoring

Teachers receive individualised coaching and mentoring directly at their school with a flexible approach to one or more of the following offerings.

Revive and Update Your Resources

Smart Planning to Captivate Your Learners

Become a planning pro with our start to finish lesson planning offer. 

Assess to Progress

  • 3-4 weeks
  • 7.5 hours 
Assess without stress! Do you need support with monitoring your students’ progress and providing feedback that will improve their learning as well as your teaching? 

The Digital Classroom

Duration:

  • 3-5 weeks
  • 3.5 hours or 7.5 hours
Make the most of technology in the classroom! Looking for exciting and effective ways to use tech in the classroom? 

Group training directly at your school

Get together with teachers from at least one other school and receive professional development courses directly at your school or near you. Prerequisite: At least two schools must profit from a course, ideally with a group of 6 to 10 teachers.

Training for Professional Development

Delivered as free twilight professional development sessions, rather than as coaching or mentoring. This offer is intended for groups of teachers who come together from various schools in a given region. We offer this training on-site or virtually, with a bespoke choice of duration.
